The Worlds Best Beaches - One Foot Island

Aitutaki on the Cook Islands is famous for its turquoise central lagoon and its palm-fringed white beaches. Aitutaki's most famous beaches are found on One Foot Island which was awarded "Australasia's Leading Beach" at the World Travel Awards in 2008.

"With 12,500 kilometers of beauty, the Aitutaki Lagoon is a jewel in the crown of the Cook Islands group. Non-commercial and untouched, the Aitutaki Lagoon is a must see, full of marine life and sparkling blue for as far as the eye can see. Aitutaki Lagoon is dotted with 21 tiny motus (uninhabited islands). Visit One Foot Island (Tapuaetai), a deserted atoll idyll in the middle of the lagoon with unbelievable white sand beaches stretching out in to the pale blue waters of the lagoon."
