The Worlds Best Beaches - Pink Sands

Harbour Island in the Bahamas is famous for its Pink Sands beach on the east side of the island. It is a very popular destination among American tourists, and many celebrities spend their beach holiday here. The beach gets its amazing color from tiny microscopic shelled animals known as foraminifera that are mixed into the fine coral sand.

"It is the main attraction of this small 3 mile long cay off North Eleuthera. Even though it is so well-known, it never even comes close to being crowded, because the beach is so long, and so wide. In addition, the entry to the water is pristine, and completely sandy, with no drop-offs. And the sand is hard-packed, making it great for jogging." (Eleuthera.com)
