The Worlds Best Downhill Skiing - Courchevel

Courchevel is the biggest ski resort linked to the enormous Trois Vallées ski area in the French Alps. Because of its popular status among the new Russian elite, it has developed into something of a winter playground for the rich and famous over the last decade, and as a result Courchevel has perhaps the most exciting after-ski scene in Europe while still maintaining the resort's traditional, local charm.

"The linked ski area of the Courchevel valley is 1,304 acres of mountain entirely dedicated to all types of winter sports. Ski down the 150 kilometres of downhill pistes, served by 62 chairlifts, to get the most out of your day’s skiing. If you’re a beginner, the “ZEN” and fun zones are for you, with 27 green runs and 44 blue runs to get you skiing in perfect safety. For hardened skiers, 38 red runs and 10 black runs will test your technique and ability to the full! Whatever your level, choose your itinerary for some unforgettable days' skiing." (Courchevel.com)

  1. Courchevel and the 3 Valleys are great but the Arlberg in Austria takes the top spot for me. The best snow record int he Alps, very tough skiing, intermediate cruisers, history, great and pretty resorts, heli skiing.....
