Banff National Park in Canada has several world-class ski resorts, and for many, Sunshine Village is a favorite because of its magnificent scenery and superb snow conditions. The resort is also notable for its efficient lift infrastructure, which allows relatively crowd-free skiing even in the midst of high season.
"For 80 years Sunshine Village Ski & Snowboard Resort has been serving up what is usually only found in skier's and snowboarder's dreams: endless mountain terrain in the heart of an unspoiled wilderness. Uncrowded slopes, Abundant snowfall, Mountain towns alive with spirit - all within Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies." (Skibanff.com)

It's pretty good, but best in the world...? Bit of a stretch there. Perhaps among the best after Easter up until closing day on May 18. Some very advanced terrain has been added over the past few years for experts (pack, peeps, avalanche probe & shovel, and buddy required, checked by pro patrol). Looking like we may see a late season powder dump this week! Hoping... By the way, the on hill accommodation is very cheap in May.
